Week One.



PHOTOJOURNALISM: journalism that presents a story primarily through the use of pictures.

Dependant on;
Time sensitivity
Objective & accurate depiction of events
Working nature.

Often combined with other elements such as words. Photojournalists often work with a writer.

Photojournalism encounters a lot of ethical dilemmas in terms of photo manipulation (Enhancing vs distorting), privacy, graphic and shocking images.

Doing some research on photojournalism I found a photo essay by a photographer called Eugene Richards. The book is called 'Cocaine True, Cocaine Blue' and explores the drug infestation in housing projects in the states.
